My Favorite Wine for Every Time of the Day
It's time we throw out the saying "it's 5 o'clock somewhere." If you're off of work, on vacation, or enjoying the weekend (and your kids are cared for), there's a perfect glass of wine for every time of the day. That's right, even the AM. You probably shouldn't try all of these recommendations in one day, but as long as you also drink plenty of water, I'm not going to stand in your way!
Morning: Prosecco
You know what turns breakfast into brunch? Bubbly. Coincidentally my two favorites are labeled as Glera, which is the grape of Prosecco. This just means they haven't been classified but they are just as good, if not better than, any DOCG versions I've had.
Recommendations:
Runner-up: Cava, like Castellroig Cava Brut
Runner-up: Cava, like Castellroig Cava Brut
Thank Guy Beringer for your beloved brunch. He invented it in 1895.
Afternoon: Rosé
I love rosé in the afternoon because it pairs perfectly with sunshine. There's also a range of styles for every type of wine lover. I personally prefer deep versions.Recommendations:
Runner-up: Riesling, like Leitz Eins Zwei Dry
Evening: Beaujolais
Your evening could take you in many directions so you need a flexible wine that works with an array of food. Beaujo is always down for anything you throw its way!Recommendations:
- P. Ferraud & Fils Morgon Les Charmes
- Marcel Lapierre Raisins Gaulois
- Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais-Villages
Late Night: Malbec
After the sun sets, it is time for something dark. With its beautiful purple color and deep fruit flavors, Malbec is trendy with Millennials making it fairly easy to find BTG.Recommendations:
Runner-up: Zinfandel, like Angry Bunch Lodi Zinfandel
